MEET THE GUYS
Jamie Ryan
Guitar and Vocals
Jamie Ryan, born and bred on the vast farmlands of Kansas and Oklahoma, was raised on the sounds of legendary acoustic artists like John Denver, Jim Croce, and the Eagles.
His musical journey began at the young age of fourteen when he joined an old-school country band with members much older than him, playing in gritty biker bars and honky tonks. By sixteen, he was rocking out with "Rod Drake and Wichita," his first taste of professional rock music.
After exploring various musical projects, including a stint with the earliest days of Oklahoma heroes "Legacy," (who’s local hit “Yuletide Rockin” still receives heavy airplay every Christmas season), Jamie found himself in the Ozark Mountains of Branson, Missouri, where he formed "Lixx," a fusion of Power Pop/Rock with a hint of 70’s rock and metal and a touch of progressive elements. Transitioning into the late 1980s, he delved into the St. Louis Contemporary Christian “Rock and Roll Worship” scene, becoming a founding member of the St. Louis Vineyard and leading worship for over fifteen years, recording a number of CD’’s, as well as performing and traveling as far away as Moscow Russia.
Relocating to South Florida in 2007, Jamie spent a decade making a name for himself locally with Big Bad Murphy before transitioning to Hi Mileage in 2020. Known for his electrifying lead vocals and energetic guitar performances, Jamie pushes the band to explore unconventional musical choices and never conform to the standard dance floor tunes. Drawing inspiration from guitar greats like Alex Lifeson, Eric Johnson, Ty Tabor, John Petrucci, and Eddie Van Halen, Jamie is a sonic alchemist, often layering amps and effects to create tones that captivate and energize audiences.
When not busy with Hi Mileage, Jamie performs with local Treasure Coast favorites Beachside Jazz.
While Jamie humbly rejects the title of a "Lead Guitarist," he focuses on finding the perfect chords and melodies that elevate the entire band. For Hi Mileage, the emphasis is on unity and collective sound, delivering high-energy performances filled with originality and musical excellence. Together, they embody the spirit of the band!
Jason Amy
Piano and Keyboards
From his humble beginnings in the outskirts of Youngstown, Ohio, this talented and versatile musician began his professional career at just 16 years old, showcasing his skills as a bass player, keyboardist, and horn player. Throughout the early 80s, he performed with various top 40 and dance bands, before embarking on a journey with the show band circuit in the northeast.
By the mid-80s, a move to southeast Florida led Jason to join a dynamic 9-piece horn band, where he immersed himself in high-energy rock and pop music. Fast forward over 40 years, and he has found his niche playing keyboards; formerly with Big Bad Murphy, and now with Hi Mileage, as well as performing bass and keyboard duties with local Jazz & Swing trio, Beachside Jazz.
As Jason’s musical story continues to evolve, each performance adds a new chapter to an impressive career.
Doug O'Malley
Bass and Lead Vocals
Like many great players, Doug grew up surrounded by great music. In those days, it was nearly impossible to find a bassist, as everyone wanted to be a guitarist (god help us!).
But with the determination and grit he carried throughout his life, he fearlessly accepted the role.
Influenced by vocal styles from Three Dog Night to Chicago, while following bass greats like Jaco Pastorious and Rocco Prestia, he honed his chops and hit the road in his early 20s, playing clubs and hotels from coast to coast, including Vegas, working with a number of high profile professional wedding, dance and show bands.
Doug now brings those years of experience to his Hi Mileage performances; spanning multiple genres and musical styles, he belts out both classics and modern tunes with taste, energy and enthusiasm!
Chris Pallini
Drums and Lead Vocals
Long Island New York’s own, Chris Pallini, is a seasoned musician who has been drumming and singing for longer than he would like to admit. His experience includes playing in club and bar bands that specialize in delivering pure, unadulterated rock n roll. Drawing inspiration from iconic drummers like Tommy Lee, Alex Van Halen, Buddy Rich, and Gene Krupa, Chris has developed a unique drumming style that blends the best of both worlds.
While his roots lie in the music of the 70s and 80s, Chris also thrives in playing blues, classic rock, and country tunes. He infuses a heavy swing into the classics and adds a punch to the country songs, creating a dynamic and engaging sound. Chris also takes on the role of lead vocalist, pouring his heart and soul into each set of lyrics and delivering powerful performances that leave audiences captivated.
Like Jamie and Jason, Chris is also a longtime member of the Jazz/Swing trio, Beachside Jazz.
Whether he's jamming out at practice or rocking the stage, Chris exudes enthusiasm and excitement every time he sits behind the drum kit. His passion for music is palpable, and he eagerly anticipates the thrill of "hitting stuff" with his drumsticks.
